This year's UW contest to determine the teams who qualify for the regional competition was held on October 11, 2014. 31 teams participated, with the top 5 advancing to the regional competition on November 15th. Minus some operating systems-related hiccups during the practice contest, the event ran fairly smoothly.
Many thanks Google for sponsoring the competition, and to Google employees Kellen Donohue and Cameron Neblett (as well as our own Allison Obourn) for serving as judges. Derek Rhodehamel, Chadi Moussi, and Max Leigh Martens Glass served as volunteers, delivering hundred of balloons to the teams.
The top 5 teams representing UW at the regional competition are Olia in UW (Aleksandev Holynski, Hessam Bagherinezhad, & Adireza Rezaei), House Lannister (Yingkai Wang, Gurwinder S. Gulati, & Chenfan Sun), superluminal (Zehao Sun, Wenbo Cui, & Jingchen Hu), Amgems (Jeremy Teo, Sherman Pay, & Zachary Iqbal), and Eternal Flame (Siwakorn Srisakaokul, Jasper Hagunin, & Vladimir Korakov)
